Oh yes, we were in April last time, so today we will talk about May!<\/p>\n<p>Surely, our Byzantine ancestors enjoyed the colors and the smell of the flowers &#8230; because the cars and the motorcycles didn\u2019t exist&#8230; there was no asphalt and cement and the neighborhoods certainly had gardens &#8230; Oh, beautiful times &#8230; But let\u2019s come to the point!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"145\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken.jpg 708w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken-700x320.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken-200x90.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken-400x181.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/chicken-600x271.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In May, the experts didn\u2019t permit the dry foods and those that produce bad juices. Avoid anything glutinous like extremities, offal and fibrous parts. Among meat choose those that are rich and well-fleshed :\u00a0 lumps that are grass-fed not suckling but that have been suckled by their mothers, and they may be young males or castrated, lean meat well boiled. Their soup must be spiced with nard, fresh cilantro, a little pepper and safflower. Don\u2019t even think about pork meat. Remember \u00a0\u00a0the roosters, the pigeons, the ducks and the geese must be well boiled and not too spicy\u2026<\/p>\n<p>What about fish? Only the salt and dried fishes are permitted and not the young seafood &#8230; well, let them grow up \u2026anyway they will not avoid the inevitable &#8230; some day they will \u201ccome\u201d in our menu &#8230; let them enjoy their life for a little&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6251 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/fish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/fish.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/fish-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.athenstrainers.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/fish-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have green asparagus, dry soups, legumes soups, porridge, watered fish sauce (garo) and fenugreek. This month not dry, not salty, not sour nor too sweet foods and fruits!
