Revolved Wide-Legged Standing Forward Fold with Upper Limb Support on the T-BOW®

The Revolved Wide-Legged Standing Forward Fold with upper limb support on the T-BOW® is a complex multi-joint exercise that combines hip flexion, forward trunk flexion, and spinal rotation, while simultaneously promoting neuromuscular stabilization through external support.

The exercise is performed with a wide base of support (wide stance), which enhances lower-limb stability and allows for a greater range of motion at the hips.

Forward trunk flexion is achieved primarily through a hip hinge, aiming to maintain the spine in an elongated and functionally aligned position.

Trunk rotation occurs mainly in the thoracic spine, while the lumbar spine remains under controlled stability, thereby reducing shear and compressive forces. Support of one upper limb on the T-BOW® functions as an external reference point (external support), allowing for:

  • improved control of rotational movement,
  • limitation of unwanted compensatory patterns,
  • enhanced segmental mobilization of the spinal column.
