Don’t hold your breath

Over the past years that I have been exercising myself and my clients, I feel that most people have lost

touch with their selves and forgot how to breathe normally.

Unlike babies that breathe easily and steadily, adults often experience breathing problems that may involve chest tightness, short of breath and weakened diaphragm as a result of stress and anxiety. We suppress our emotions and we end up with physical disorders such as migraines and headaches.

To overcome the effects of stress you have to discover the original stress trigger. You should also :

  • Avoid mental tension
  • Improve your body posture
  • Start physiotherapy
  • Improve the mobility of the cervical and thoracic spine
  • Perform breathing exercises through yoga & pilates sessions
  • Use anti-inflammatory, analgesic or muscle relaxant drugs only on prescription
  • Improve the quality of your life

We can live for days without food and water and only few minutes without air. As Joseph H. Pilates said “Breathing is the first act of life and the last. Our very life depends on it”.

We fully agree.

Did you know that:

In order to exercise our core properly, abdominals, perineum, multifidus muscle and diaphragm must cooperate.

Women who have given birth need to train all these muscles  to reduce Diastasis Rectus Abdominus.
