Pilates@home using a home reformer: teaser

Reformers are the most popular piece of Pilates equipment. With its system of springs and ropes, a Reformer provides both resistance and assistance to the exercises. This expands the variety of exercises you can do and allows them to be easier or more difficult, depending on your needs.

Starting position: Lie on your back with your arms at the handles extended downwards under your shoulders. Knees bent and hips at 90 degree angle. Shoulders blades are just off the back edge of the box, head and shoulders off the box in extension.

Straighten both legs to a 45 degree angle.

Keeping the legs glued together and in this position, inhale as you circle your arms to your side, draw the chin to the chest, draw the abdominals to the spine, and roll through your spine in flexion, reaching your arms forward until they are shoulder height, bringing your body into a “V” like position. Inhale and during exhalation return to starting position.
