Ballet lessons…part 3

When it comes to their kids, parents want them to have the best. There are so many things to love about ballet; the grace, the poise, the ease with which dancers glide across the stage.

Our little friend Niki (7,5 years old) has started ballet lessons with Foteini Alexopoulou as her teacher. She was shy at first…

Learning 1st hand and foot position: knees and heels together, feet turned out, arms long, elbows rounded, hands shaped, shoulders down , chest open.

Learning 2nd hand position with 1st leg position and arches lifted: Teacher Foteini  opens  little Niki’s arms to the sides telling her to imagine that she is embracing the sun…”Elbows just obove the shoulders and wrists just below the elbows” Fotini corrects, “keep the heels together and move forward Niki, legs long “.

“Chest opened, ribs closed, neck long”..

To be continued…
